Audrey Harman's Self-Portrait

  1. This picture looks very natural with a soft finish. This picture was taken with short depth of field. Although the items in the background could be a little less prominent, they are not distracting enough to take the focus off of the subject in the portrait. The lighting was perfect for the softer finish. The Composition is well balanced; there aren’t a lot of different lines in the portrait that would make that eye travel in a myriad of directions. The picture was cropped just enough to put the focus on the intended subject. All of the colors in the portrait complement one another and it resulted in a beautiful shot. The mood of this portrait seems calm and peaceful. When I first saw it I reminded me of a picture that I saw of Audrey Hepburn; simple and classic. Great Job, Audrey.

  2. I like the idea. A little less depth of field would put the viewers attention more on the subject and less on the background. Take this image into Photoshop and use the levels and curves to eliminate some of the flatness/color balance issues.

  4. I'll do that! No I didn't, my eyes are that color naturally.

  5. Awesome... A lot of eyes won't shine like yours, either because of their nature or the lighting wasn't quite right. I've used this technique in the past if you ever need it: http://photographylife.com/how-to-make-eyes-pop-in-photoshop
