Texture- Clifford guest

  1. The colors of this photo are rich and saturated, which intensifies the contrast in textures. The greenish-yellow of the curry, the oils, and the overlapping chicken add depth and variation in the middle ground and foreground. The inside of the pot adds contrast with the hard, scratchy, gritty textured compared to the relatively smooth curry dish. The traces of the curry colors on the pot and the reflective quality of both the pot and the dish create a balance within the composition. This photo is a great display of texture for said reasons. I like the fact that although the colors are vivid there is simplicity to it for the fact that there is one predominant color. The color alone could be the detail without adding in all other components, therefore all other displays of texture complement the subject matter of the assignment. In comparison to most other photos the textures displayed are much smoother than most which is a aesthetically pleasing dissimilarity.
