  1. Love the contrast and composition of this image!

This is a really nice shot for detail. The light is photographed on a solid black background, which really helps to emphasize the details of the fixture. Many photos of the day are close up shots of an object or texture but this image is interesting in that it shows an entire object but focuses on the details by contrasting it against a solid background. This is one of the only two images of that day that utilizes a completely solid background.

While some of the detail images of the posts focus on an object with many colors, I like that this image is more monochromatic and really focuses on the idea of detail in texture and form. The soft, off-white/cream color of the light stands out in a very stunning way against the black background. I love that the light creates beautiful gradients against the shapes in the fixture. The curves are highlighted so well by the black tipped gradient of the light. The black tips do a good job and showing the layers of curved forms.

I like that you have positioned the light in the top right of the frame because it creates accurate balance in the composition. The circular layered shape of the light is very unique so the composition works to let the viewer know that this is a light. The opening of the light at the top that reveals a bit of the bulb provokes the question of whether you are looking up or down at the fixture. The fact that the black background provides no context to which way you are looking at the light keeps the viewer intrigued.

    Nice work!
