The picture bas an interesting choice of angle and cropping that draw the eye through it and make more interesting than just a rocking chair. Then dark lacquered wood along with the lighter colored canned seat help to make the chair stand out against the purple carpet and grey walls. It looks as though the rocker is in front of a window from the way it is lit. I can imagine myself sitting in the chair rocking in front of the window and watching. I loved to rock when I was a child it gave me serenity and a safe place away from the rest of the world. I also enjoy the fact that the rocking chair appears to be an antique. It has a sense of history and a comforting feature that new items do not always have. Due to the age I wonder how many children have grown up rocking in this chair? The purple carpet give a sense that chair that could be very old is set in a current daytime. Purple carpet was not something you would have found in a house 100 years ago. Overall there is a calm relaxing sense about the photo that makes me want to rock away.
