The subject of this photograph is interesting. It seems to say something about the photographer in regards to their ancestry, a glimpse into where they come from perhaps. The document depicts a particular ancient culture with a long history and many traditions. Their style of dress and personal adornment was very ornate and beautiful and I like how this photo shows that aspect of that culture.
The composition of this photo is striking in my opinion. The contrast from the black and white and the texture are very appealing. I like the detail in the subject matter and the depth of field highlights certain elements of it. Although they’re not defined the lines within the photo make the eyes travel. The curved lines of the faces add smooth shapes along with the detail at the top off the document.
