Good use of depth of field. You're giving us the ice crystals as a focal point and making this look like something more than just a popcicle. Nice abstraction.
1. Frozen 2. Crystalized 3. Orange 4. Cold 5. Bright 6. Yummy 7. Summer Time 8. Can you eat that? 9. Old 10. Brain freeze
My first thought was “How old is that popsicle. I hope she didn’t eat that.” The color is beautiful. The orange really just pops off the background of the black background. I also noticed the crystals, which have formed. I thought that was a cool thing to capture. It really made me think of that moment when you’re in the house hot and can’t find any relief. Then you remember you saw an old Popsicle in the back of the freezer. You take it out look at the freezer burn and think. “Should I really eat this?”
I like the line of the picture because it follows the leaning popcicle. It’s a cool shape to, that long oval shape really pops off the black background since that’s the main focus. The focus is the orange for me. It’s really hard for my eyes to leave the orange area. The ice crystals make the texture very ridged and bumpy. I think its also super sharpened. It’s not like a clear picture but you know what it is. The tone of the picture is very intense because of the orange and the black background.
