  1. This is an elegant picture of vibrant red strawberries in a slim wine glass with a few strawberries placed at the base of the glass. The background is a black suede cloth backdrop or drape that surrounds the fruit-filled glass. The photo is well lit, with a bit of flash sparkled in the center of the wine glass. The strawberries at the bottom are also well lit against the dark background.

The composition is vertical and straight on. It is also shot at a medium depth of field, because everything in the picture is in focus and view. Focus is good. The color contrast is great due to the red strawberries against a black background. The red pops. The background is not distracting and provides a bit f texture, and the subject nicely fills the frame.

The overall mood of the picture is elegant and light. There were no angles used and the picture was shot at the level of the strawberries, which makes the glass stand tall.

The rule of thirds was taken into consideration, with the glass placed in the left quadrant –top to bottom--and the strawberries outside the glass, at the bottom-right quad.

One suggestion – although, I like the sparkle in the glass, b/c I think it adds to it…but if you want to have even lighting, then you could have bounced the flash more and maybe swiveled the flash head to the left or right to rid of the the light reflection. Overall, nicely done and it looks like it should be for an Edible Arrangement ad or something.

  2. Thanks, I took several pictures and the ones that I took that did not have the sparkle seemed to be missing something, so I opted to add the photo whith the sparkle. I do appreciate your comments

  3. Nice studio lighting
The composition is a bit cliché. Think about what else you could have done with these berries other than pile them into the glass. Smash them, hang them off the glass, slice them… lots of possibilities.
