This photo is shot with a full on flash blast. It's throwing shadows off everything including the whole right side of the frame. Make it more interesting. How else can you shoot this so it doesn't look like a snapshot? Think about focal length, lighting, line, depth of field.

Actually I never used flash, it was the light from the lamp but the rest of the points you made are helpful.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard light that is throwing a light bomb right at the subject. Flashes do that... so do lamps. Think about diffusing the light
