Lovely Peaceful Lonely Sad Graceful Abandoned Forgotten Weathered Middle of Nowhere Lost
Initially, your eye bounces between the long graceful stalks of grass and the weathered red peak of this structure.
As your eye moves down the structure, which I initially mistook as an abandoned home, you realize that it has been abandoned for quite some time. You take in that slats are missing, and the red paint is fading and worn away from the elements, creating a great texture in the majority of the image. Looking at the worn red, I thought about how pretty the original color of the building must have been. The cloudless light blue-sky ads a subtle contrast to make the building stand out from the background.
The missing siding on the left of the structure I mistook initially as a broken window, but then I realized that there is no light coming from inside. Past the missing door, there are no windows. The bright golden lines of the grasses are on top of the dark doorway makes for a great contrast that initially hides the fact that no light is in the building. After taking all of that in, I realized that this was a s shed of some type.
After taking in these elements in the foreground, you then notice that the background is a wooded area, and with the cropping of the building on the right hand side adds to the desolate feeling.
