Detail - Dave Byrd

  1. I really like this image of all the corks. The way in which it is zoomed in and short depth of field allow the viewer to see all the different textures of the corks and we can make out the logo designs on some. It looks as though there is a yellow tint on the image, which is exacerbated by the tan color of the corks. My guess this is from an overhead light with a yellow bulb. If you played with the color levels this might have been able to be compensated a bit more. Most of the class seemed to choose a close up to really capture the detail and fill the frame of the image. Yours is interesting not only with the texture fine detail of the corks but also words lend themselves as an added layer. The word SNAP on the right side catches my eye. Overall very cool image it makes me want to enjoy a nice glass of wine.

    1. Thanks Kyle. Yeah, I debated the color; this one just seemed so warm and cozy compared to the 'correct' color, so I left it. I was gonna make some cheesy reference about this being my 'snap'shot, but how bad is that?

And, oy, that's a lot of wine! ;-)
