First Day of Summer - Dave Byrd

  1. Downfall of Summer
With the warm season of summer comes the opening of swimming pools, beaches, nice days outsides, barbeques, and time to relax and ease on the work. However with this also coming the fast growth of vegetation the most nagging of these is the grass. With the continues growing of the grass at a fast pace, means that the grass must be cut and cared for routinely; ultimately taking the fun out of summer for most, which is why I entitle this work the “Downfall of Summer”.
This photo tells a story of an individual cutting the grass with an electric push mower. The individual seems to be mostly finish shown through the contrast of grass heights, with one side longer than the other. This picture reminds of the days that I had to cut grass. The many days and hours I spent cutting and trimming the grass and hedges. It also reminds of when I use as a grass cutter at an apartment complex. I think the contrast works well in this photo, showing the different levels of the grass field, it also plays with the depth. I don’t really see anything that does not work with the photo, I believe the photo to be well shoot.
