The focus is on the top where the pegs and tuning is and then you follow a deep dip down the strings to the base of the guitar at the bottom of the image. It is a very convincing study in depth and vertical movement along with a great focal point. Since the focus is so crisp as your eye travels down the image it falls straight down like the top hill on a roller coaster and descends the blurry strings to the bottom of the image. It has a lot of movement to it. Your eye jumps back and froth from one tuning peg and fork to the the next creating a pattern of movement for the viewer to play with and feel like they are interacting with. There is also a slight shadow across the top of the neck which breaks up the movement as well making the image more playfull and a little film noir as well. It has a moody quality to it both due to the composition of the extreme verticals and and the shadows and gradation of black and white. Framing the dark image against a stark white back ground gives it more emphasis and importance.
