Nice image! This image of a guitar sitting on a windowsill feels very calm and serene. The instrument is resting in a windowsill to the left side of the frame. The windowsill points inward to the top of the frame while the guitar points inward to the windowsill creating a nice area of interest at the top left of the composition. The reddish brown guitar provides a really pleasant contrast to the tree outside of the window. The tree is a rich emerald green. A bright point of light breaks the top of the body of the guitar and the tree outside. While the light is very dramatic – the image still feels calm because the guitar is leaning towards the left side of the frame and nature/outside makes up for a decent part of the composition. I say “at ease” because no one is playing the guitar, it almost feels like the object is taking a rest.

The light from outside provides a series of really interesting reflections on the guitar. Parts of the guitar that are closer to the window reflect a series of horizontal lines (possibly from a set of blinds) that are distorted into waves by the body of the guitar. The other side of the windowsill is reflected on the body of the guitar and creates a very distorted vertical line.

The rule of thirds is also shown very clearly in this image because the frame is divided almost equally between the guitar, windowsill and tree outside.
