When I first looked at this I thought it was a shelf of coffee mugs. When I clicked on the picture and it got bigger, I realized it was the tic-tac-toe bored that is always at parks. This made me think back to my childhood. We never actually played with the those they way we were supposed too. It was always used as a hiding spot for certain games or we tried to see who could make them spin the fastest. Sometimes we even made up stuff for them to mean. It really took me to a happier time when life was simple and fun.
I really like the angel of the picture and the lighting. It makes it seem as though it is later in the day when the kids have gone home and this is what they left. The shape is also cool because although its vertical it is also diagonal and looks kind of like a small person is looking through the lens showing us their view. My focus is on the middle ‘X’. It’s the first thing my eye is drawn too when I look at the picture. The texture is more so flat. I don’t really know if there is much texture to the picture. The tone is somber to me. It feels like it’s saying “this is the playground once the children leave” quiet and still.
