This photo depicts the perfect bite on a spoon. The spoon is resting on a black and white background composed of black triangles with thick white outlines. The geometric and monochromatic background provides a very nice contrast to the colorful food that is on the spoon. This image is shot about eye level from the front of the spoon with a very short depth of field that makes the handle fade into the background. The front of the spoon is slightly off center, sitting towards the bottom right of the frame. Only the most forward tip of the spoon is in sharp focus that really makes this bite of food feel inviting, like it is for the viewer. The spoon casts a subtle shadow like reflection to the left that indicates the background may be made of plastic or another shiny material. The background shapes are also reflected onto the bottom of the metallic spoon that creates and interesting effect.
While I am not exactly sure what this is a bite of – I would most certainly eat it because of its rich color and texture. First on the spoon there is a grain product – maybe quinoa? - the grain is a beautiful golden yellow color made up of small circular shapes. Directly on top of the grain there is a red food – possibly a tomato or pepper chopped into small squares. There is a slight piece of green peeking out behind the red that could potentially be a chopped green pepper.
