What initially caught my eye about this photo was its interesting perspective. This is a photo of a variety of 13 books that each stand next to each other. It looks like the picture was taken from beneath the books, or the image was flipped. I also chose this photo because I had the same idea for my own, and tried to achieve a similar look as well. This photo has many lines, which are pleasing to the eye, as the books vary in their long and short lengths. Some books are tall enough that they bleed off the shot, while others are much shorter and entire spine can be seen in the photo. Each book is pretty close to one another except for the white book on the left-hand that stands away from the book Monkey Bridge.

It is interesting how the picture is filled with different colors, however the sepia-like (or orange, as it was the first color that came to mind) tint blends them together, creating soft nature tones except for the navy blue book that seems to stand out more than the rest. There is a contrast between the darkness of the books and the light that splashes on them. There is a depth of field in the photo where the bottoms of the books on the left are out of focus.

The picture has an antique and comforting tone to it, and I think a lot of that has to do with the colors of the book covers and the tint.
